arsenal vs wigan

Somehow we conceded sloppily but it just doesnt seem like we are going to lose.

Arshavin with a goal. brilliant goal. finally justify his selection over nasri. I m glad i kept faith in u. but i m sad i nv captain u. I hope he credited with e assist, nt sure if flick will credit it to him or not.

Halftime thoughts:

I think victory over chelsea gave arsenal a real belief. even when we conceded early on to wigan. We kept our shape and kept going. we didnt crumble or lose our belief. Wilshere replaced diaby due to injury i think wilshere is really integral to the team. he speeds things up where diaby slow things down.

Come on 2nd half!!!!

Arshavin score more pls... i wan 4 goals!!!!

update: n'zogbia dived for the penalty

will be back after 2nd half

A quote from facebook

I was so tired yesterday that I was dragging myself back home from school after night lecture, until I reminded myself why I need to go through all these. Seriously no red bull nor chicken essence can awaken you more than this - Sense of Purpose

Was reading some arsenal blogs and I found out something interesting

Harry Redknapp was involved in a terrible car accident during the 1990 World Cup in Italy. Five people died, including Bournemouth managing director and Redknapp's close friend Brian Tiler.

Though Redknapp made a full recovery he lost his sense of smell.

Wealth investment training

Many of my colleague actually felt that wealth training is tough but i felt that it wasnt tough, it is e ridiculously short amiunt of time that is given for doing the project that is killing us. We were given the project at the end f the day n were expected to complete it n present it tmr. N yhe project aint simple at all. Luckily i have been preparing myself for this since my poly days. As a slacker most of my project were done overnight thus i m used to the extremely rush deadline comoared to my fellow colleague. Its pays to b slack after all. Haha just kidding

Arsenal Jersey!

After years of supporting arsenal i finally bought myself an Arsenal jersey. Love it! Haha i have got manu n juventus but not arsenal so its ry kind of weird.

Well both manu n juventus jersey were bought b4 i supported arsenal. I think i bought dem for more den ten years alrdy. Manu jersey was e millenia edition, which u can wear it e normal side, white colour or u can wear it inside out, it change to then gold color jersey. It was one of e first n few dual wearing jersey.

Juventus jersey was bought also in maybe 2001 i think. Back de n del piero is my hero. I think he at that time he was really awesome. I remembered jeventus jersey was quite expensive back then. I remember i bought it for over a $100 bucks. At that time few club jersey were selling at such a high price.

Will add in e pics soon.

cant be arse...

it is a 4-2 win but i m not quite impress, well 1st villa was aweful more den arsenal were capable, 2nd arshavin were slowly finding his stamina back.

after the half time we conceded very quickly, against a team like villa we cant even hold a clean sheet. if villa were better, eg. tottenham, a repeat of last week collaspse would b likely. despite 2 holding midfield we still leak goals... hopeless...

We would be beating all e lousy team and just (hopefully) finish in the champions league spot, but we will lose all day to top teams. barca real manu chelsea and evenly slightly better teams, tottenham.

NX few games chelsea and manu will exposed our flaws and destroy our season.

tottenham defeat will linger for a long time...

Wenger thinks that tis bunch of players is the best he had, prove me wrong against manu and chels...

carlos tevez

"Today, the young players have no education at all, and I don't want to listen to them. When I played in Boca, when [Martin] Palermo or [Juan Roman] Riquelme talked, I listened to them. So I don't want a young player to tell me 'why did you do that?' in the dressing-room. I would punch him, as I have won 13 titles in my career.

"I'm going to play football for three or four years in Europe, then I will quit. I would play for Boca again only if my father asks me to do it, but I don't want to play in Argentina again. If you ask me, I would love to have my old life back in my neighbourhood of Fuerte Apache as I don't like my way of life today."

Pardone my vulgarities...

Fcuk you fcuk yo fcuk you REFEREE, you r the worst of the worst. haven seen such a lousy referee for the longest time.

Braga were shirt pulling you saw it and you allowed it. We won the ball CLEANLY, u yellow carded it.

We had a fcuking clear cut penalty, you said it was a dive. If your view were block or you were far away it cant be help. U were dere it was a clear clear clear cut penalty. even in real time it was damn obvious.

ok i had my piece now back to arsenal.

I m not blaming the referee for the defeat. I just cant stand such poor refereeing.

Your turn wenger!

I knew you NEEDED to win after THAT DEFEAT AGAINST SPURS. BUT BUT BUT you knew fabregas was no fully fit, yet you gambled against his fitness. How could you? Trying to save yourself from embarassment of losing 2 match in a row and thus u put fabregas in jeopardy?

A player who is on the verge of being hamstrung cant be fully fit right? every match fabregas plays he seems scared to pull a hamstring! If tats the case he should be rested. YOUR GOT IT ALL WRONG WENGER!

Its not a knee jerk reaction, arsenal might collapse this month, IF FABREGAS IS OUT FOR LONG. Thanks for risking him for this match.

Oh yes we are on same points as braga, if we dun win our final match against partizan, we might not qualify for knock out stage.

I know whats coming out from you, first you will say its the poor refereeing for not giving the stonewall penalty. 2nd you will blame on injury.

Get it right or go

False illusion...

Well Jh was prove right! TEVEZ freakin TEVEZ. after the lost to spur i need a break from blogging CMI arse.

I am watching CL right now, Braga vs Arse was like a training match....

another post!!

suddenly my blog update became more and more frequent.

I am very happy just clear my first paper. 2 more to go. lets hope i dun flung any paper.

finally can see abit of light at the end of the tunnel. year 2 here i come.

ipad is still hanging in the air. damn it. I a sissy, cant make the decision.

arsenal lost to arch rival tottenham, cant say i am suprise tho, but the manner which we played in the first half was awesome and to lose the game really just sucks. honestly i duno how wenger can tweak the system and personel.

our play are pretty good, most player are up to it, yet we cant string a consistent 90 min. honestly bar messi ronaldo, not alot player can come in and improve the squad, but as a whole we cant really kill of the game. last time we could point at denilson song fabianski, but tis time i duno who to blame. i think most did well but yet we still lost... i am still searching the answer.

I once said if u have alot of money in fantasy league value unused, there is something seriously wrong wit ur squad. right now i have 5.9 unused, i had so much money tat i used it on ashley cole and joe hart, not really worth it if u ask me but i just think tat its e cheap player tat will perform. expensive player are mainly off form or not getting points, etc malouda (former) and torres (latter).

i ran out of idea who to transfer for and i have no gut feeling who would perform. so i go by the general rule, value, van der vart is just going to rise rise and rise, i think he could potentially rise to almost 9 by the end of the season judging tat only 25% of user have him. malouda on the other hand will definitely drop abit of points, as a whoping 50% if user has him on the team. the rise and fall will probably balance out my value point, should i intend to take malouda back. chelsea is going tru a drought by their own standard but i expect dem to bounce back. its going to be another early transfer with champions league pending, lets hope mr vaart doesnt go dutch(do a van persie)

Thoughts, reflections and exams

Exam is around the corner, its tmr in fact but I have been really relax about it. This semester I rarely skip lesson and really paid attention in class thus abit of revision and the knowledge just came flowing in. Tmr just nice for 1 hour of revision before I start to attempt past year paper. Perfect.

(*results might proved other wise)

I won an Ipad while attending company's Dinner and Dance. Well I must say standard charter bank is really generous, Ipad is "just" the top 100 prize, the top ten prizes include $1200 Marinay Bay Sands voucher, $3000, $5000 and first prize is $8000 in cash. But then again there were 4000 over ppl attending the event. So i can consider myself a lucky soul. out of all my colleague only me and another lucky bastard won the top 100 prize. the rest got $30 vouchers only.

I have been debating with myself for this one week, should I sell my Ipad or keep for my own usage. Ipad is a luxury, not a need. Should I take the $$$ or should i keep... haix...

WHAT YOU GUYS THINK?

Sick, yes Sick, after recovering from the horrendous fever, I am down again with some unknown sickness, one side of jaw is kinda painful. Its like having some punched you in the face(side). I suspect its wisdom tooth, my mum say body too heaty, got "sore gum". I am feeling slightly better now. I hope it's not some tooth growing out. I think I am too old to grow a tooth now... please not during my exams at least.

Nowadays I am worried about death, not me though. I am worried about ppl around me. I look around, my dad is already 70, how long more I get to play a fillial son, time for me to do something. My hamster already 1 year old. another 1 year with me? Hamster life expectancy is MAX 3-4 years.

More and more responsibility lying on my shoulder...

Dreams...

I thought Jh dream of talking to his 10years older self was weird...but i just had a weirder dream...

I dream that i was marlon harewood, playing for westham and scoring a hatrick against wigan. the wigan centre back was Jonathan loo and william gallas...and i was damn gd against them...

wat a freaking weird dream... of all ppl jon? gallas? y on earth i became harewood? y not henry or bergkamp....

crap but really funny.

oh ya for those betting the scoreline was 4-1 or 4-2... whens e nx westham vs wigan match?

Christmas is coming!!! OMG!!!

Christmas never fails to make me happy. HO-HO-HO, HE-JIN-HO!

Reflecting back on the year, I think it was another year that i grew, things move on quite fast but slowly things have settled down.

This year resolution was to change my bad habit of always being late. I think I did reasonably well in achieving it.

This year, I want to set 2 target

1. I want to live a healthy lifestyle (food/sleep/exercise)

2. I want to work harder for my exams

Time flies I am going into my 2nd year for my degree. Damn tough sucky life... so many things to do...

I am still pondering to sell my IPad or should I keep it for personal use...

Long standing feud have been resolved...

Patched things up with my dad after a year...

Chelsea down 3 nil!?

Chelsea sorely missed Jon Terry and Essien. Chelsea defence were made up of 3 shorty, bosingwa cole and ferriera. suprisingly none of the 3 goals came from headers. BUT chelsea defence were totally at sea. gaps and hole appeared everywhere. all 3 goals came from poor defensive play (cole suicidal back pass) and 2 poor positional sense
(the centre back were drawn out of their position)

And suprisingly the midfield and attack were flat and weak, allowing sunderland to attack in waves.

Arsenal won at Goodison park.

I totally lost faith in arsenal after Newcastle match. i thought between wolve and everton, we would probably drop some points, especially the latter. I was quite suprise by how arsenal went about playing those 2 games. it was a 180 turn around from the newcastle game. The attitude and commitment were on a different level. This season is kinda un-arsenal. We were the most fouled team in the league, but now we are the team commiting the most foul. Instead of getting kicked, we are starting to kick ppl, fabregas tackle in wolve game was bordering a red card limit. Next up Arsenal vs tottenham, its gona be a cracking game, lets hope both team are free from injuries and play a full strength side. It gona be fireworks. Spurs defence has been poor without king and dawson, i think arse will win this game.

Liverpoo....

Just when i thought pool is back, they gone straight back to defeat. Jon and I had a heat or hot debate about liverpool, but in the end jon was prove right. Liverpool sucks... but I discovered something, Jon is a evil person, as much as he tried to tell me how liverpool sucks, he was tell me to take gerard in fantasy league, telling me how gerard will asist score and get bonus pts, den nx min tell me how liverpool cannot make it.... he just wanted me to get off the top spot so tat he can climb over, evil jon....

Tuesday 9 November 2010

Fantasy premier league~~!!

Gameweek 12

The approach for this season were very much unlike my usual style. for the past season i have been playing with my "gut feeling", signing the unknown or going against the flow, I also gambled and most of the time took the risky approach. Eg taking all 3 player from the same team and captaining amongst the 3. (effectively having 4 from the team)

to lose last season by a mere few pts from the 2nd spot was hard. It was harder still to lose to aaron by one transfer abeit being the same points as aaron.

this season i decided to take a caution and balanced approach. have been making good transfer except for boswingwa and maybe fabregas. the jury is still out.

before today i only made a mere 11 transfer. lowest among the whole league. something which is really very unlike me.

2 biggest risk which i have made selling nani and drogba. by selling those 2, it meant tat i will probably not be taking back them as their value have alrdy sky-rocketed.

my views are that manu and chelsea will enter a low scoring drought for the next few matches or at least nani and drogba wont be getting that much points. lets hope my views are right starting this gameweek.

finger crossed...

Sick......

Was down with gastric flu and fever for the past 2 days... felt like dying... was worried sick, thought i might die again... I could feel that my hands and leg are getting numb just like 8 years ago... but luckily i am feel alot better now... was so worried about a relapse... phew... Life is fragile... u might be running and kicking at this moment... u might be on the bed for the rest of ur life... tressure life...

No matter what hardship and obstacle you encounter, dun give up dun feel sad... take what comes to you with a pinch of salt and triumph over it! Just remember nothing beats waking up and knowing that you are still alive. (well i really sound like some perssimistic old man who is dying soon.)

My 2 frens who are down with relationship problems, forgive forget and accept. I wish you find someone better.

My work,

well my work have been pretty fun and good so far. My manager have been really good to me...after i hit my target for my quarter, I was told that I can leave office at 3.30pm!! wooo 9am to 3.30pm...

I am actually suppose to go for training this month by i requested to postpone to next month so that i could concentrate for my exams. My manager have been very supportive and I really appreciate it.

I will be going to our new main branch at Marina Bay Financial Centre. Its going to be the new flag ship branch beside marina sands. Guess it would be super busy after December...

My school,

OMG, I just hate exam... really hate studying... i think i m born with some deficiency in my DNA which automatically reject books and notes...or mayb I just haven found anything tat interest me, I am just so envious of JH CW and Jon, JH CW are really passionate in what they study while Jon is just a pure NERD who loves book...

Time really flies, a year have pass...1/3 gone and another 2 years i will b graduating...I guess I will b hanging in here for awhile more, like it or not.

My life,

Yeah I finally got a new bike!!! after years and years of wanting, I decided that this is it. I am 25 and i ought to get something I wan and do something I like. (my mum was angry and worried sick about my safety when i bought the bicycle). Its a red coloured FOLDABLE bike. I think its kind of cheap. I got it from carrefour at 99 bucks. Its not too shabby, except that its a bit heavy, but den again at 99 bucks, I am getting what its worth.

I ask around for frens that might be interested to buy and we could go cycling together but unfortunately few share my passion, only Jon said ok. I got the red bike and Jon got the blue bike. Initially jon wanted the same colour as me, but I told him to Fuck off and stop being such a gay. (he protested and said that red was his fav color. Wat a lousy excuse) :)

Have been cycling around SG and I realise you can pretty much go anywhere in SG with a bike. Went to thompson, Kallang, Amk and etc. not very far yet but I would like to test my endurance and go to further area like sengkang or yishun. Mayb I should go to sentosa and cycle and try to explore the area.

Shopping,

Oh ya if you guys want to go shop, we can go together.

I just realise my wardrobe totally out sync with my age. The last time i bought any clothes was probably 2 years back. all my stuff are tshirts. so if u are going to shop count me in.

We can only blame ourselves for not winning

I would like to give credit to Sunderland.

Elmo was sending crosses in at any opportunity.

Darent bent was always snifing around the penalty area looking to pounce on goal. Notice about what so great about his play today? I dun remember him being flag for offside at all, he kept on level with the last defender and keep going.

Bramble was a rock in defence. Nothing goes past him.

Ok on to arsenal.

Same old arsenal? no, we did really well in defence today. I must say clichy clearance was really unlucky to hit koscielny and drop so kindly for Bent.

Almunia, was solid throughout, not tested but one particular incident stood out. Koscielny left the ball for him via a weak back pass, Almunia was very alert and quick to come out and clear. Could have concede from there

Clichy, no mistake, hard to beat, didnt lost the ball while going forward.

Sagna, strong commited and solid thru out. I notice he got forward at every opportunity this season and crossing had improve.

Koscielny, I must admit the 2 mistake probably that he made and resulted in 2 goals, against blackburn and bolton respectively probably made me caution about praising him. Otherwise he is just brilliant. he is strong in the air, great at tackle and really reads the game very well. technically he can break out of defence and goes into attack. Still untested against drogba and rooney but if he could perform like this consistently he is going to be an asset.

squillaci, solid tidy and good header. I do notice that whenever koscielny is playing, the other CB seems to be quieter. Even when vermaelen was playing, you cant help but notice koscielny rather than the partner.

AA, as mention earlier AA is really very direct this season. AA is really very effective in the 3 quarter of the pitch. he needs player like Cesc and rosicky to play him in. Other wise he offer very little by himself. His stamina is still an issue.

Wilshere, his inexperience showed in the first half. too much fancy turns and making over playing. but in the 2nd half when he cut his nonsense out, he is really good. very few mispass. what really impress me is despite his tender age and physical frame, he is tenacious. he can really tackle ppl.

Song, probably too much nitty gritty foul. looks slow today, both him and chamakh aint playing at the level that they are. His attacking play has improve and can see that he is going forward more often. I must put this down to the defensive play of wilshere.

Nasri, honestly I am not convince on nasri. I just feel that his passes are not as penetrative as fab aa rosicky. when was e last time u see nasri playing a superb tru ball? i cant rem. one thing is that he could really hold the ball and draw foul. he is looking more and more like hleb, good control but offers little creative passes. similar to AA he needs to play in an advance position to finish move rather den create.

Fab, left the field too early for much comment. just unlucky with injury and lucky with goal.

Chamakh, work his socks off, defending from the front, honestly i think he should start ahead of RVP, he really offers alot in terms of defending. upfront he could hold the line, rarely loses the ball and challenges. But today he looks slow, fatigue from CL?

Sub

Rosicky, as mention in previous post, i really like him. great movement, great passing, hardly loses ball. good going forward and also defensively sound. we really need him on a regular basis. definitely pick him over nasri.

Denilson, limited play time, but i thot he looks good. calm when surrounded by opposition. good defensively. could he become a flamini?

This season I can really seem how each player can function in a specific way. and it really adds up and give arsenal a different dimension. Defensively they look good but I must stress they haven been tested by a big team yet.

Wenger needs to get e balance rite. We are also very very unlucky with te injuries. looking the e list at one point of time the physio room would have more player den e start line up.

Walcott and diaby is sorely miss today....

I know what i put as the title, but let me indulge with just one line.

THE REFREEE IS AN INCOMPETENT ASS.

Monday 13 September 2010

This is touching...

MM Lee spoke of his wife, Kwa Geok Choo, 89, in an interview on the New York Times’ Saturday Profile.

The couple met each other when they were law students in London and have been together for 61 years.

He shared that his most difficult moment is at the end of each day as he sits by the bedside of his wife who has been unable to move or speak for more than two years.

“She understands when I talk to her, which I do every night,” he said. “She keeps awake for me; I tell her about my day’s work, read her favourite poems.”

“I told her, ‘I would try and keep you company for as long as I can,” before adding, “I’m not sure who’s going first, whether she or me.”

Sunday 12 September 2010

4-1 win over bolton

Just what was wenger thinking? luckily for us the result was positive.

gibbs-squillaci-koscielny-eboue

2 news signging 1 from reserve and 1 bench warmer.

all four have not even play with each other before. but its a gamble tat paid off.

fab is back to his best, see those assist, its just awesome. Genius in his passes.

Chahmakh, could this guy be our goal scoring machine? i for one has been watching him playin since the early preseason friendly. goal goals goalss. his run short passes and heading ability is really an asset to our team.

arshavin totally could have gotten a hatrick last nite. 3 one on one if i remember correctly. all miss. rh should have gotten at least 20 over pts for captaining aa. AA remains a dangerous weapon despite his misses. he will find his shootin boot back. great to see our players linking up so well. AA have been doing more of dangerous infield runs. instead of running with the ball, the new style sees him making the run and our midfield to make the pass.

rosicky is like another fabregas! early in the match u could see how rosicky release aa for an one on one with the keeper. top class. finger crossed and twisted, rosicky dun injured.

our centre back looks promising for now.

All seems rosy but crisis will set in once almunia or e defence makes their first mistake. seems like we have no problem in scoring. Arsenal season will be make or break depending on these 3, squillaci, koscielny and almunia.

http://sg.yfittopostblog.com/2010/09/06/10-steps-to-follow-when-buying-a-property/

By Mr. Propwise (courtesy of PropertyGuru)

Buying a home is the biggest purchase most of us will make in our lives.

Yet many people rush to buy a property with less preparation than they would planning a holiday. This can have financially disastrous consequences, especially in light of the new measures announced by the government on August 30th, which have created a lot of uncertainty in the property market.

Follow the steps laid out below when buying a property, and you will be much less likely to make an expensive mistake.

1. Decide whether you want to rent or buy

Buying a home is often an emotional decision. That’s fine – just make sure it’s a rational one too. Honestly ask yourself if you need to buy a home, and whether renting might be a viable option.

2. Calculate how much you can afford

First look at how much money you currently have, including cash and CPF. Note that based on the new measures, if you already have at least one loan outstanding, your minimum cash outlay will increase from 5 percent to 10 percent. Next, figure out how much you can borrow, taking all your outstanding debts into account. You can work with a banker, or use the affordability calculator available on LoanGuru (https://www.loanguru.com.sg/mortgage_affordability_calculator). Most banks will only lend up to a 35-50 per cent Debt Service Ratio (your total debt payments divided by your monthly income).

3. Figure out what sort of home you want

What are your current and future housing needs? For example, a newly married couple that buys a studio or one bedroom unit might find within a year or two that they need a two or three bedroom apartment once a baby is on the way. Would you prefer HDB or private property, if you can afford it? Which districts or areas do you prefer to live in? What are the amenities and public transportation options you want?

4. Build a list of options

You can choose to either use a buyer’s agent and/or go DIY. Look at both options offline (e.g. classified ads in the newspapers) and online (property websites) to get the largest pool to choose from. Based on what you’ve figured out from Steps 2 and 3 above, come up with a list of potential projects to consider.

5. Do market research and narrow down your choices

You can check the recent transacted prices of these projects from the PropertyGuru website. Compare prices there with surrounding projects. Compare the transacted prices with the asking prices. If you are buying for investment, look at the market rents and rental yields. Eliminate the projects that do not look attractive.

6. Go for property viewings

Based on this smaller list of projects, arrange viewings of at least a few different units in each project. It’s helpful to take photos and notes to help you remember what you saw. Visit each project at different times of the day and night to see if it is noisy or otherwise unpleasant. Narrow down your list to your top few units and do a second viewing if necessary.

7. Get indicative valuations and your mortgage pre-approved

Don’t miss this critical step! Before you make an offer, ensure that you have gotten an indicative valuation from a bank and an in-principle approval for a mortgage. You can approach the different banks yourself or use a mortgage broker to save time. Based on the new measures, if you already have an outstanding loan, your Loan To Valuation (LTV) limit has been lowered to 70 percent from 80 percent, so you’ll need to cough up more cash. Also, banks will only lend to you based on the LOWER of the valuation limit or purchase price, so if you are buying above the bank’s valuation, you will need to pay the difference in cash. If you are selling your existing home to purchase a new one and hope to borrow at 80 percent LTV, you now need to present proof to qualify (in the form of a signed purchase agreement for your current home and certification showing that stamp duty for your existing property has already been paid for by the buyer).

8. Make an offer and negotiate the purchase

Once you get the indicative valuations and at least one pre-approved mortgage from the bank, you can then make an offer knowing you can borrow what you need. There have been a number of unfortunate cases of buyers who have lost their deposits because they realised later that banks would not finance their purchase. When negotiating the purchase price, it helps to have a number of options on hand so you are not forced to overpay due to a lack of options.

9. Sign and exercise the Option To Purchase

If the seller accepts your bid, typically you have to put down a 1 percent deposit to get the Option To Purchase (OTP), and have 14 days to exercise it, by which time you will have to pay another 4 percent of the purchase price. Make sure you have the funds on hand to do so. Once you get the OTP, liaise with your conveyancing lawyer and mortgage banker to settle the procedures.

10. Complete the sale and collect the keys

Before the completion date, do an inspection of the home to confirm that all agreed on fixtures and items are still around. On the date itself, collect the keys and check that you have a complete set. Congratulations! You are the owner of a new home. Time to think about renovation and furnishing…

New measures, take note

Buyers of 2nd homes can borrow up to 70 pct, from 80 pct

* Stamp duty on sellers who buy and sell within 3 years

* Aimed at speculators, won't hurt home buyers - analysts

* Singapore property stocks fall on new measures

* Singapore moves follow similar steps by HK, China (Adds analyst comments, background; changes byline and dateline)

By Kevin Lim and Lee Chyen Yee

SINGAPORE/HONG KONG, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Singapore announced on Monday restrictions on people buying second homes as part of new measures to cool its red-hot residential market, joining Hong Kong and China in taking steps to keep a lid on housing prices.

Home prices in Asia have soared in recent months, fuelled by the region's rapid economic recovery and ultra-low interest rates. The gains have been highest in Singapore, where prices rose 34 percent in the 12 months to June, followed by Hong Kong which increased 21 percent, according to Global Property Guide.

Part of the demand has come from wealthy Chinese individuals looking to diversify geographically by putting money into the two ethnically Chinese cities, which impose few restrictions on property investments by overseas investors.

"This latest move is not to discourage home-buying on the whole. It is aimed at property investment, especially short-term ones," said Nicholas Mak, former head of research at Knight Frank in Singapore and now a lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Hong Kong tightened mortgage lending this month for bigger apartments as prices headed for historic highs, while China is clamping down on bank lending to the property sector as well as making sure developers do not hoard land meant for housing development.

However, South Korea is taking a different path, announcing on Sunday it would ease some mortgage borrowing restrictions for low income earners buying homes for their own use.

In Singapore, the new measures included decreasing the amount those with existing mortgages can borrow to buy second properties to 70 percent from 80 percent, and extending a stamp duty to sellers who buy and sell within three years.

The stamp duty was previously imposed on speculators who disposed of their homes within one year. For a FACTBOX on recent property measures in key Asian markets

Singapore property stocks fell after the government's announcement, with shares of Southeast Asia's second-largest developer City Developments falling as much as 4.3 percent and Wing Tai dropping as much as 4.6 percent.

CapitaLand, Southeast Asia's largest developer, declined as much as 2 percent.

The worst-hit counters were those with large exposure to Singapore residential property, said DMG & Partners analyst Brandon Lee.

AFFORDABILITY

Analysts said Singapore appeared more concerned about ensuring home prices remained affordable for the majority of citizens rather than asset inflation, noting the new measures did not attempt to stem inflows from overseas.

The measures, they added, come on the back of an announcement by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Sunday that the government will build 22,000 new public homes next year, up from 16,000 this year, in a bid to ensure housing remains affordable.

"We've acted twice to cool the market -- once last year and once in February this year -- but prices are still rising," Lee said. "We need to do more."

Chua Yang Liang, head of Southeast Asia research at Jones Lang LaSalle, noted that while the pace of price increase in private residential property has moderated, resale prices of government-built HDB apartments continued to rise strongly.

"The latest introduction of measures are motivated largely by the unabated rise in public housing prices," he said, noting the 4.1 percent increase in HDB resale prices in the second quarter exceeded the average of about 3.0 percent in preceding periods.

Chua predicted Singapore home prices will continue to rise but at a slower pace, with private home prices moderating to 2-3 percent growth per quarter and HDB prices rising 1-2 percent.

Singapore said on Monday it introduced the new measures "to ensure a stable and sustainable property market where prices move in line with economic fundamentals".

Singapore interest rates are near record lows despite economic growth that will likely hit 12-15 percent this year, due to an increase in inflows from overseas.

Malayan Banking, for instance, earlier this month launched home loan packages in Singapore with first-year rates of as low as 0.88 percent per annum.

"The current low global interest rate environment will not continue indefinitely, and higher interest rates could have severe implications for buyers who have overextended themselves," the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of National Development and Monetary Authority of Singapore said in a joint statement. Interview

You're interviewing for a job. After 20 or 30 minutes, you're asked: "Do you have any questions?"

The worst thing you can do is ask, "What is it your company does?" (Hey, it has happened.) The next worst thing you can do is say, "Um, nope, I don't have any questions."

[See 21 secrets to getting a job offer.]

You need to ask some questions! Asking questions shows your interest in a company and makes you look smarter (smart people tend to be inquisitive). Asking questions gives interviewers a chance to talk about themselves, a thing most people love. And--this is important--asking questions is a way to find out if you really want to work for these people.

Bottom line: Don't make the interviewer do all the heavy lifting. Take an active role in the interview process and improve your chances of landing a job.

[See 50 tips for surviving your worst work day.]

So what should you ask? Here are 10 suggestions:

1. "Can you describe a typical day for someone in this position?" If your interviewer appears to be nervous or ill at ease, a non-abstract question like this is a good way to get the ball rolling.

2. "Could you talk about the history of this position?" Specifically, what you're trying to find out is how long the position has existed, how many people have held it, and why it is now available.

3. "What were the major strengths and weaknesses of the last person who held this job?" Or in other words, what kind of act would you have to follow. This is also a chance to find out what happened to your would-be predecessor. How this question is answered will tell you a lot about the dynamics and expectations of this workplace.

4. "What are this position's biggest challenges?" You're naturally curious about the downsides of the job. But find out in a way that makes you look confident and unafraid to tackle problems.

5. "In what area could your team use some improvement?" Do you get an honest-sounding answer? This is important. It's also an opportunity to talk some more about how your skills specifically match this company's needs.

[See more career advice at the U.S.News Careers site.]

6. "What are the prospects for advancement?" Asking this demonstrates that you have ambition, and makes you look like a big picture person.

7. "How would I be evaluated?" If you want to know an employer's true priorities, and what is really important about the position under discussion, ask this.

8. "Who are the most successful people in this company and why?" A clever way to get a glimpse of a company's values/ethos/culture and how the powers-that-be measure success.

9. "Why do you enjoy working at this company?" Okay, it's a softball question. But the answer, and the tone in which it is given, should tell you a lot. Basically, you are looking to see some sincere enthusiasm here.

10. "Do you have any reservations about me or my ability to perform this job?" It's a gutsy thing to ask. But consider doing so because it's a great way to get real-time feedback on you and your interview skills. Asking for criticism not only earns you points for courage, it could result in some very helpful information.

P.S. Do not ask questions that would be easily answered by consulting the company's website. You will look unprepared, even lazy. You'll also lose the opportunity to gather some valuable insight about this employer and the job on offer.

F-lick wk 2

Credit to irving, 2 wk 2 striker hatrick!
It a month since I update anything on this blog. I really miss blogging, I always have some random thoughts tat i would like to put it here. Other than sharing, this blog is really my online diary. Its away fun to browse thru the past archive and see what you were doing or thinkin 2 or 3 years back.

so much to update that i duno where to start from. mayb i will just start from work.

Work has been fantastic for me, slowly i am starting to enjoy what i am doing. the initial stages might have been really difficult but once things start to move, you really get busy.

I have manage to hit my 3 month target within a month, right now I can really take my foot off the pedal and relax abit. It has been a gruelsome month for me, I am really working hard spending all my time in office constructively, working OT and skipping lunches. not to mention my school had already started. I must say its really worth it, now tat i have hit my target, i can totally concentrate on my studies. I can just spend my office hours doing my assignments and projects. and today i just went home at lunch time, telling my boss i meet client haha :)
took a nap and went to school.

*Disclaimer : boss should not read the above paragraph, all rights reserved

Nonetheless, I am still short of 2 deals before I get my promotion! Despite my efforts, I have yet to complete a mortgage deal. Its a requirement to complete 1 mortgage and 2 insurance deal. btw last month I was able to close a mega deal worth $12000!! but sad to say my commision not alot. :< So any souls out there that no of ppl buying house or need insurance please let me no!

I will be going to Batam this weekend with my family, if its fun next time we can organise a trip there ourselves!

hmmmm ok onto soccer!! alot to say, first gallas sign for tottenham ahah lets hope he retire at westham then he would have played for all 4 top flight london club.

Chamakh have been a very good signing, good run and aerial presence. probably save us a points at anfield

koscielny, too early to gauge but lets hope he will be awesome.

We will be signing another defender from sevilla, pardon me, i cant spend his name, its like s-q-cilly, something like tat. jloo say he is good and lets hope he will be just as gay as jloo.

how can we forget about fantasy league when we talk about soccer?
This season fantasy league is really intense, game week one all of us can feel the pressure already, I must self really dun wan to lose out tis time, not to the likes of jloo at least. jloo himself is already in overdrive mood, cursing every single captain u guys have. haha. credit to jh who lead by 30over points just in 2 games.

Right now every week is like a final and every transfer is like life and death. fluctuation of values can be so crucial, I have experience it first hand last season, a slow start and a drop in player value can early on can kill off any chances u have. lets hope all of us do well this season except jloo. if he still win tis season, we might consider scrapping off the buffet lick next season. the pain of seeing him eating free buffet hurts me. LOL

i will stop here before I bored you guys

til then

S

Des'ree - Life

Was actually searching for Fullmetal Alchemist in youtube, but i just chance upon this song by Des'ree, LIFE. It really brings back memory, "To Heart" is really one of the first japanese drama that I watched. It leaves a very lasting impression on me. The drama OST, includes this track from Des'ree, I really like tis song alot!

What really suprise me most is, all this years, I listen to this song time and time again. I always thought des'ree is a japanese. Little did I know she is a latin american (born in barbados). I did a search on where is barbados, it is actually a part of a cluster of islands called the west indies or caribbean, which is somewhere in e middle of south and north america. It is a tourist spot and gosh, the beach is awesome, really just awe-inspiring. I just added it to my must travel destination.

Dread dead morning....

It just seem to me that I am immune to my own alarm clock. Its really bad because I bloody woke up just mins before my reporting time at work. It was terrible.... late for the 2nd time in a week. horrible horrible sam...sam sam sam pls buck up.

Work wise I just finish attachment to our flagship branch at 6 battery road. It a very good experience for me, really learn alot from the consultants there. I am quite lucky because ppl which i am attached to is very frenly, not like some hostile creature i heard from my other colleagues.

Learning alot means i get to see alot, life is really tough in a bank. I m expecting it to be tough already but it is just tougher than i expected.

Gota work real hard!!!!! Even simple account opening, admin stuff also we do..Y cant wenger just sign me up I can play for the team. I am pretty sure at least i am better than silvestre or denilson..

Dear friends, if u have frens that need insurance or buy house need home loans, you can refer to me!!! :>

Birthday!!!

Well kind of disappointing, this year birthday most of my close fren didnt manage to make it. only alien, predator and 1 infected human came. was quite suprise didnt expect him to come.

We went to minds cafe and it was really really fun. played "saborteur" and I won, play "I am boss" and I won too... it either because its my birthday they let me win, or my birthday I am lucky or I am just plainly simply GOOD LOL.

It was really fun!! ppl we should go minds more often!!!

Irony

We ignore the ones who adore us,
adore the ones who ignore us,
love the ones who hurt us,
and hurt the ones that love us.

Gathering of the age long friends

Had a simple dinner last nite, met up with my primary school classmates. some of them whom the last time i saw them was PSLE last exam paper. The feeling is just overwhelming. Years have swept past us just like tat.

It was weird tho seeing some 1 whom u used know, yet felt like a stranger. but some of them u will just feel as if they hadnt change a bit at all.

It kinda of funny really, recently i am meeting up with ppl whom i haven been seeing for a long time, primary sch frens and former colleague. I hope that I can meet up with my Kino fren soon!!!!

Monday 5 July 2010

Monday morning

For the first time, a fast walk is suffice to get me to my work place on time.

Bought economic bee hoon for breakfast. It was good, but the price is slightly steep, it cost me about $2.80, I believe other places you would be able to get it at about $2 max.

Over the weekend, we saw both tournament favourites, Brazil and Argentina knock out by Holland and Germany respectively. I didnt catch Argentina's match but I didnt expect Argentina to lose so extensively against the germans. On top of it they didnt even manage to get one goal against them.

My primary school classmate is organizing an outing, it's years since i saw them, i not sure whether i should go tho...

Alright breakfast done. Time to start work!!

Saturday 3 July 2010

BRAZIL OUT!!!!!

OMG,u log into ur face book, every single post for the past hour is all about brazil out of wc.

I tot brazil did really well for tis wc, i really dun see holland wining tis match. there u goes, tis wc is just unpredictable.

Brazil control the match in the first half and score a very decent goal. out of the tunnel into the 2nd half, the brazil tat we saw was unrecognisable apart from the players, they defended and allowed holland to atk them.

A defensive mix up sees the first goal let in and another defensive lapse resulted in holland 2nd shortest player heading in the 2nd goal.

I think robben probably shld have gone into the guiness world record with the most number of fouls drawn in 90 min. some are legitmate but some are plain dive. almost every pass to him, ends up with a foul.

Both side commited tonnes of nitty gritty foul, but the most stupid 1 came from melo. moment of stupidity...

Life...

I am watch a documentary from channel U where they travel to different country to help the local people. I really hope one day I can go oversea to do some volunteer work. Standchart is good in a way, we get leave for doing volunteering work. I am really happy to work in an organization where they encourage volunteering.

This guy left home because he father force him to become a beggar. He sleep and live by the train station, and a few years ago he lost his right leg after a train run over his leg.

He is 17 and he is actively learning as much as possible from the volunteers. even with one feet, he still delivers paper in the morning to earn additional money.

Let us all remember that no matter how unlucky we are, we are still better off then alot of ppl.

2nd day at work!

Well, 2nd day at work, it was awesome!

Went for jogging in the morning and having my big breakfast now.

The jogging was aproximately 800m from douby god to Peace center. Basically I am almost late, so I had to run to reach on time.

Waited for 1 hour to cool myself down before work starts.

As promise work starts onli after blogging and breakfast. :>

Big breakfast is as always awesome!

Yesterday is my first day of work, well its still not bad but got lots to catch up.

Majority of the people have been here for 2 weeks. They are very much starting to work on their stuff but for me, I am new here and still waiting for instruction and some hands on before I can do anything.

Alrite time to start work!

Got to customize my desk!

Tuesday 29 June 2010

incompetancy

In a corporate world, you meet all sort of ppl, I just met some really incompetent ppl who cant do their work much and put their weight around. Asking ppl come here, but the things are not ready, so come here for what? bloody wasting my time. you know your job anot? if u dun den learn, dun always just talk...

Home coming!! Knight and Day!!

Yesterday I was nearby Kallang so I went back to look for my ex-colleagues. I miss them and I miss the place, to a certain extend I miss the job. I really look back and see this place and this job fondly.

Nothing beats watching a movie at Kallang, I just love the feel. I not sure what is so special, maybe because I literally look after that place, furnishing, cleaning, maintaining projector, seeing ppl attaching the films, just that odd sense of familiarity. Its like a project I worked on for a long time and suddenly I have to let go. When you go back at that place, you would just indulge in a bit of reminiscing.

Last time when I play world craft and DOTA, I used to call customer hordes of creature. becos movie timing is always staggered 1.30pm, 2.40pm, 3.20pm. So customers always come in waves. The queue can stretch up til the horizon. The defence tower is my cashier and I am e hero slaying the creatures. Every customer cleared is consider 1 frag. When customer comes in wave, my colleague will sound the battle drum and give a war cry. Charged! haha some really lame shit.

A peaceful, peaceful place...

I watched Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameroon Eto Diaz. Tom Cruise just got this Super agent look. This movie is a no brainer super agent kind of movie, funny and full of action. Some scene is really full of crap and just funny, especially the conversation.

Next up, A-team, the movie maniac in me is taking over...

A good way to start your day!

Good morning, it is really an awesome way to start the day with an american breakfast, cold milo and fantastic scenary. Followed by some internet surfing and blogging before you start your day. I think this will be my morning schedule from now on.

Sunny side up, hotdog, ham, baked beans and harsh brown...woooooo + Plus milo...
thats life...

Yesterday was a very lucky day for me, in terms of World cup results. I bought 3 goals total for both matches and there it is this morning:

Holland 2 - 1 Slovakia
Brazil 3 - 0 Chile

My dear friend, peru bought Slovakia but holland gave them absolutely no chance at all. poor little girl... trick by the posh performance against Italy.

My winnings goes just a little bit to even out my loses. Currently still in the red zone, you just cant beat Singapore Pools...We all must learn from irving, if you cant beat them, join them.

This world cup is nothing but full of kelong. The results just seem so unpredictable. Lesser team played well against top teams. When you think that this is a good team, they will play like a lesser team. And when you think this Top team is going to beat e crap out of that lousy team, both team played equally well...
Thats how it is, crappy World cup.

I saw this quote of the day:

In 2006 Italy and France met in World Cup final.
In 2010 Italy and France met at the airport.
Both went back together.

haha Classic

*Disclaimer : Please do not think that Ronghua is a pervert just because I said that he stock on other girl facebook. Then again it doesnt mean that he is not a pervert

It was an beautiful morning, Pah singh and Gopal, being the best of pals had breakfast in TPY central BK. The breakfast was as good as Jloo FHM-esque pictures that cw uploaded in facebook, simply said awesome!

After we gather together, we took train for the first time since 1945 to orchard. During the trip Pah singh was at his usual self, stalking girls, he was peeping at a lady's iPhone, when I confront him, he say he was looking at the girl's facebook, but he wasnt wearing specs so he couldnt see it clearly. Pah singh said it was an interesting hobby to him.

We went to silly-leisure to Sing + Lunch = K-lunch

Singing was fun, the highlight was when Pah Singh sang Old-De-Yang's song. I tried to off the audio but it makes no different. Pah Singh then took out his red cap and took off his specs and turban, and unveal himself as old-de-yang. The K-box stuff got a shock too!

After which Pah singh went to a sikh temple to pray, while Krisnan and Gopal tour around sg to take some pictures.

Gopal being the best of pals with krisnan went to Orchard Central. It is the first time Krisnan went there.

We wrap up the day by going to china town square and had tea there.

yes we had tea there jh, ahhh tea and books, mrt and some random girls, yes jh I do read your blog :)
