Horoscope for cancer (June 2007)

You will be working hard as the month opens, getting projects done and delighting in checking finished items off your to-do list. While pressure will be high for the first four days of June, after that you'll be able to chill out. Soon you'll feel quite accomplished for all you have achieved and you'll be able to relax.

From the start of the month until June 25, Mars will still be brilliantly lighting your house of fame and honors, so it's very likely you'll get praise, publicity, or the opportunity to try for a top position. The whole month shines for your career, and those in authority will be much more aware of your work. Look your best because you'll be singled out, for sure. When praise or an offer for a better job comes, it'll make you feel like a million.

One day in particular should stand out for career matters, and that would be June 4. A project you turn in will have legs - and take you places! Right to the top!

Try to be as productive as possible during the first few days of June, as soon Mercury will retrograde, from June 15 to July 9. Although you may assume you have two weeks to squeeze in all that you have on your schedule, actually you don't. You will begin to feel the slowdown of an out-of-phase Mercury. I will recommend that you not formalize any new deals until the new moon in Cancer, due next month on July 16.

Mercury rules all analytical thinking, information, communication, commerce, contracts, agreements, data, research, transportation, shipping, and machines / electronics. When Mercury goes out of phase, all these areas suffer.

Your printer may suddenly start to eat paper (instead of printing it!) or your DVD-VHS player may start smoking. (Mine actually burned the old fashioned way - by fire, much to my horror - on the last Mercury retrograde.) If any parts in your electronics are wearing out, you'll know it now.

It is never wise to spend for expensive items, like a car or computer, because you are not likely to enjoy your purchase and later will wonder, "What was I thinking?"

Mercury retrogrades three times a year for three-and-a-half weeks, and this time you may feel things more directly than most, for Mercury will retrograde in Cancer.

Don't accept or start your new job when Mercury is retrograde because too many conditions will be in flux. When it comes to employment, no matter how honest your prospective boss may be, no one is fully able to anticipate how things will change during these retrograde periods. You may accept the position only to find out later that the job is nothing like the one you discussed at the interview. Try to slow the process by saying your lawyer is in court, or that you will be going on vacation. Usually the process will go slowly anyway. Contracts signed under Mercury retrograde always need to be renegotiated afterwards, if at all. (Most people never want to work with the other party again.)

Practical matters like making more money may be on your mind too in June, and if so, a meeting with a potential employer or new client on June 19 will go well and you should come out with the price you name. With Venus and generous Jupiter collaborating so beautifully, you may even be surprised by the generous increase you get. If you had already made hints that you'd like to raise your compensation or fees, you will find things easier, as Mercury in retrograde allows us to return to earlier conversations and get things settled.

An opposition of Jupiter to the Sun on June 5, and a similar opposition of Saturn to Neptune on June 25, suggest you need to find ways to work more profitably, especially if you are self-employed. You might want to start charging a separate fee for your expenses associated with the job, if you aren't doing that already, as one example. These planets will open your eyes to certain realities and give you a chance to fix them. Think of these planets as loving little relatives who are trying to help you work smarter, not harder.

The new moon, June 14, will fall in Gemini and light your twelfth house of memories, dreams, and habits - all things covered by your subconscious mind. This new moon will help you get to the root of a bad habit you've been trying to quit by addressing your motivations. Often we repeat patterns that we wish we would break but we don't know why we can't stop. This new moon will help you plumb your depths so that you can start fresh. If you feel you need a doctor, coach, friend, or relative to help you, ask - you'll get the help you need.

As you get to the end of the month, the Sun will move into Cancer, indicating that soon it will be your birthday. The Sun will give you lots of extra energy and a highly attractive sense of authority. Your health will begin to glow and you'll feel more optimistic about life - and you should! You are moving into a really positive phase, with each day brighter than the day before.

Romantically, single or attached, Venus will still be finishing up a visit to Cancer during the first four days of June, a lovely placement that won't happen again for a year. While Venus will help your love life, it will also be a good time to spiff up your appearance too to improve your "package." Once Mercury begins to retrograde on June 15 shopping won't be productive. Go at the start of June while your satisfaction factor afterward will remain high!

If you and someone special have been an "item" lately, at month's end it will be time to decide where you'd like the relationship to go next. On June 30, we will have a full moon that for you will light your relationship sector. This is nothing to be wary of, however, for on this full moon, you are likely to see highly usual, surprisingly happy developments within four days of this date.

If you were born on June 30 or within five days of this date, the effects of this full moon will be more evident and dramatic than it will be for your Cancer friends who are born on other dates.

Are you sad not to have a special someone in your life? You won't be pining for love for long! You may bond quite closely this month when you work late at the office - one coworker seems to have become quite smitten with you. This is likely to be someone you hadn't considered as a potential romantic interest but who will begin to attract your eye, especially when this person volunteers to help you get a project done. It would be hard not to have feelings for someone who has such impressive mastery over the material he or she is working on. Your boss may later send out a memo praising you and your coworker. If you both remain discreet, you'll have your cake and eat it, too!

Best date nights; June 7 - 8, 16 - 17, 21, 2 4- 26, 29 - 30
